Coffee Above the Clouds – Ritatkala Cafe, Kintamani
We stumbled upon this cafe when we visited Kintamani for the first time, conveniently located on Jalan Raya Kintamani and facing Mount Batur. Ritatkala exceeded our expectations. Upon entering, we were greeted with the view of Mount Batur, enveloped in clouds, which looked heavenly, especially for city folks like us. They offer indoor and outdoor seating, with the outdoor area boasting a direct view of the mountain, which is magnificent.
However, we chose to be seated indoors as we anticipated that it would become quite warm once the sun rose, despite Kintamani’s cooling temperature. Nevertheless, we were still able to enjoy the view from the window.
We ordered coffee and mains, both from the Western and local menus, and both were delicious! The prices were very reasonable too, especially when compared to similar establishments in Kuta.
We would suggest arriving as early as possible (they open from 6 AM to 6 PM) to fully enjoy the stunning “above the clouds” view. The best month to visit Kintamani would be around July – Oct, as those months would have lesser rainfall.
